Escape to the Coast

Winter was coming and the holiday season was around the corner. I knew that after the New Year I was going to need something to refresh my perspective on my creativity. I was talking to a friend and she mentioned going to Cannon Beach, Oregon for a meet-up with other creatives. I immediately went online to book my flight and Air B&B.

Let me tell ya the Escape to the Coast meet up was pretty amazing. . The Pacific Northwest has a magical, mysterious energy. It takes some getting used to looking thru the thick of the trees but around every bend there was something special to see.

Even more special were the people I met and the newfound friendships fostered. Before I went on this trip I was having a motherhood crisis. My youngest goes into Kinder next year and I struggled with losing my little muse. I’m always so used to having a child connected to my hip, I was afraid of losing that crutch of having company and not being alone. It was an interesting time and this escape was just what I needed to reset. I learned that there is so much growth to be had from this for both my daughter and I. This was a time for her to learn how to foster friendships, learn her alphabet and explore the world without me next to her. And the same goes for me. To learn how to face the world and explore what I am capable of without a child connected to my hip. This was going to be a time for both of us to blossom. Anyhow this trip showed me a lot of what I have to look forward to .

I’m STOKED as shit to share them here with you.

I am SO excited to finally blog about my experience with Unraveled Academy. I was approached by one of the founders, Co Hodges, to teach a quick lesson on how I edited this photo of my sweet indigo girl. It was truly a rad experience and I am so happy to have shared that content with others. Another cool thing I shared was the Google Nik and hopefully some folks were able to download it before Dx0 took it over and is now charging coin for the service. This photo was also featured in LooksLikeFilm Kids. I've also included the rest of the series from that day in a gallery below. Feel free to check out the gorgeous images of my sweet love. And before I forget, you can also check out my interview with UA on the blog HERE

Can't speak enough about how special this photo is for me. When I took on this traveling dress project we didn't expect to be shooting this series indoors. But with the weather we made the best of the situation. Nevertheless a magical portrait was made of it. February LooksLikeFilm Feature Link is HERE Congrats to all of the other amazing artists who were featured. So much outstanding photos grace the pages of LooksLikeFilm . Truly always an honor.
